The Story

General Magnus Thorne purchases dancer Celeste to replace his deceased wife, Elowen. Celeste, a skilled assassin, hides her lethal identity behind a foolish act while enduring his scrutiny. Spy Skylark coerces Celeste into poisoning Magnus, but he detects the deception, prompting Skylark to kill herself. Emperor accuses Magnus of Prince Balthazar’s mysterious death. On their wedding day, Celeste fakes an assassination attempt. The couple stages his death to expose the true villain, Lysander Locke. Magnus uses defense plans Celeste stole to defeat the enemy and slay Locke. Celeste’s true identity is revealed, and the two finally embrace their love.
