The Story

A woman spent seventeen years hidden from her true family. When her biological parents finally locate her, they arrive in patched shirts, feigning poverty. Alongside the fake heiress, Seraphina, they trap her in a condemned building and demand fifty thousand dollars in monthly payments. The deception shatters when her mother publicly curses the person who framed her, predicting blindness and broken legs. The next morning, at a ball, Seraphina’s eyes bleed and both her legs snap. The two women fall to their knees before the protagonist, screaming who she is. The protagonist lowers her eyes, and a flash of dark gold passes through her pupils. She identifies herself as the witch who did not burn on the Salem stake three hundred years ago.
