The Monster Made Her Queen

The Story

Gideon chains Cora to an altar and feeds her to the Deep King, expecting death. Instead, Soren unlocks her bonds, kisses her, and grants her half his heart-stone so she can breathe the sea. She marries him and finds true love. Gideon returns, cuts out Soren's heart, and crushes the stone before her eyes. Cora wakes in the enemy's camp, poisoned and stripped of everything, until she feels a kick inside her belly. Soren's child exists, defying all expectations. She now carries the last of the Deep King's blood. The sea calls her home. She is not returning as a sacrifice. She is coming back as their queen.
