The Wedding That Never Happened: All Episodes

The Story

Edward Henderson conceals his wealth to secure the affection of Irene Lawson, a gentle woman he believes values his true character. He intends to expose his fortune on their wedding day, but Nancy, Irene’s closest friend, intervenes with malicious intent. Consumed by the notion of testing his devotion, Irene transforms the ceremony into a spectacle of ridiculous demands. Edward pleads desperately, yet the bride pays attention only to her companion. As he gazes at the woman he adores, he recognizes a stranger who bears no resemblance to the person he married. He makes his decision immediately and cancels the wedding. The couple stands apart, their union dissolved before the first vows are spoken.
