Weightless Rose

The Story

Evelyn, the Federation’s premier vocalist, accepts a diplomatic tour that ends in disaster when her ship crashes on waste planet K-17. There, Carlisle, the exiled heir of the Wayne family, pulls her from the wreckage. Their initial friction dissolves as they battle insectoid swarms, survive a mine collapse, and outwit an ambush. Carlisle realizes Evelyn’s pheromones calm his genetic agitation, while she discovers her royal lineage and a necklace that unlocks an ancient defense system. Back on the main planet, they stage a fake engagement with Adrian to expose the Kelwen family, which has been infiltrated by insectoids. Patriarch Augustus hosts the insect mother, who launches the Homing Plan. Carlisle commands the Wayne fleet while Evelyn reactivates the old defenses to repel the swarm. During the victory celebration, Augustus falsely accuses Wayne of collusion. They expose the truth and publicly slay the insect mother. Carlisle’s succession is restored, Evelyn rejects the monarchy, and the two confirm their love.
