Draft Dreams
The Story
Family members on Drywell’s worn-down streets mock the protagonist and steal his mother’s medical funds. He endures these insults, treating basketball as his sole weapon against their cruelty. Every bruise on his hands reflects a stubborn faith in his ability to overcome their dismissal. When a chance to change his fate finally appears, he realizes the game is more than just sport. It serves as his method for proving to everyone who looked down on him that he can rise. Like street-grown weeds breaking through concrete, he aims to reach toward the sun, defying the relatives who dismissed his potential and sought to hold him back.
